Bush Says Worldwide Protests Won't Change Approach to Iraq
WASHINGTON, Feb. 18 President Bush said today that he disagreed with the millions of antiwar protesters who turned out in 300 cities worldwide over the weekend, and he promised to press the United Nations Security Council to pass a new resolution intended to authorize war with Iraq.
"I respectfully disagree" with those who "don't view Saddam Hussein as a threat," Mr. Bush said at the White House, after a swearing-in ceremony for William H. Donaldson, the new chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission. "We are working with our friends and allies to see if we can get a second resolution."

Right Wing News (Conservative News and Views) This site is hard to take but as promised I would link to views contradictory to mine... This site does provide some really intelligent commentary.
I'm guilty of this "Anti-Americanism." I'm not sure why but I think it has to do with the fact that its easy to blame everything on the Bush Administration and the United States. It's much harder to really read and actually delve into all the issues to learn about what is going on. It's easy to relate everything to the Bush Administration and their conspiracy-like search for a safe and consistent supply of oil. Blame it on the United States and the quest for oil! I admit, I am guilty of this in every respect.
Instead of watching television I read websites and non-corporate media and thus I feel morally superior to "the masses" but I'm no better because I have created a weblog that has generally consisted of "anti-American" links. From now on I will post a more balanced and not-so-blatantly biased selection of links and commentary...
Then again this doesn't matter because only a few people even know this site exists. I guess this is a message to myself to stop being such a hypocrite and start practicing what I preach...

The Wimps of War
By PAUL KRUGMAN
George W. Bush's admirers often describe his stand against Saddam Hussein as "Churchillian." Yet his speeches about Iraq and for that matter about everything else have been notably lacking in promises of blood, toil, tears and sweat. Has there ever before been a leader who combined so much martial rhetoric with so few calls for sacrifice?

Technorati: Top 100 Interesting NewcomersRanked by proportion of new links from blogs in the last 24 hours
A list of interesting blogs that you may not know about, but people are talking about. It is biased towards blogs that have a moderate number of people linking to them, but who have had some interesting original content in the last few days. This is still experimental, I'm getting a feeling for the usefulness of this search. It should bring up relatively less-known blogs that have new, interesting content posted on them. Send me feedback and let me know what you think.

This SoMo Mobiles site is amazing. It gets right to the heart of the paradox that cell phones represent. Cell phones are designed for social purposes such as communicating. However, cell phones seem to be the most disruptive of devices. Its impossible to avoid the annoying ring-tones, beeping and buzzing of cell phones these days, let alone the annoying conversations that some weird guy is having right in your personal space. How many times have you out and some dood busts out his new phone and is like "check out all my new ring-tones", proceeding to play out the first few seconds of every ring-tone known to man. I have always said that any noises coming from your cell show that you're a cell phone rookie. These 5 non-commercial mobile phones were designed to evoke discussion regarding the disruptive and anti-social nature of cellular telephones.

Shuttle and crew lost
The space shuttle Columbia, with seven astronauts aboard, broke up as it descended over central Texas today before a planned landing at Kennedy Space Center in Florida. A Bush administration spokesman said the shuttle's altitude -- over 200,000 feet -- made it "highly unlikely" that the shuttle fell victim to a terrorist act.
